House of Raeford Farms, Inc. is a family owned, fully integrated poultry company with processing facilities located throughout the southeastern United States. Although we initially produced only turkey, our expansion into chicken production began in 1959. According to the WATT Poultry USA 2015 rankings, House of Raeford is the 8th largest chicken producer nationally.
Current House of Raeford Chairman of the Board, Marvin Johnson, has come a long way since his brother, Bizzell, and he began selling their parents’ homegrown turkeys on the streets of Rose Hill, North Carolina. After World War II, the Johnson family turned their efforts into a true commercial venture and pioneered the poultry industry in the eastern part of the state.
From these homegrown values, today we cover every aspect of the industry – from specialized breeding to the production of raw, processed chicken to fully cooked chicken products for retail and foodservice customers. Providing a complete line of products is made possible by House of Raeford’s unique combination of operations, which now encompasses facilities located in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Louisiana. House of Raeford has five fresh chicken processing plants and three further processing plants. For export sales and marketing, we have established our International Division in Wilmington, NC.
