FLOCK Partner Spotlight: Fellowship of Christian Athletes

Who: Fellowship of Christian Athletes

Where: North Carolina and South Carolina

What: For more than 60 years, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes has been encouraging coaches and athletes to use the platform of athletics to impact the world in the name of Jesus Christ. FCA serves local communities, equipping, empowering and encouraging people to be at work for and through Christ.

How: FCA hosts camps all across the United States for athletes and coaches. These camps combine athletic and spiritual learning. Leadership Camps train athletes on how to be spiritual leaders on and off the field. Partnership Camps put athletes to work with other ministries and organizations. Team Camps allow full teams to build spiritual principles through competition. And there are many more. In general, theses FCA Camps are designed to remove athletes and coaches from the routine of practice and play, and allow them to pursue their passions for sport and Christ in an exciting and healthy environment. In addition to these camps, FCA hosts small group bible studies, international trips, and volunteer opportunities.

How FLOCK Supports:

Over the last several years House of Raeford Farms FLOCK has partnered with FCA. The FLOCK team in Greenville, SC has provided monetary donations to help develop and grow the FCA chapters on local college campuses, especially Furman University. This team has also sponsored fundraising banquets and assisted in funding Bibles and supplies for local high school FCA chapters.

FLOCK has also provided a great deal of support to FCA in southeastern NC for more than 15 years. FLOCK has served as a mainline sponsor for the annual fundraising banquets and golf tournaments. FLOCK has also been involved with the area’s annual Fields of Faith. Recently, FLOCK provided planning, facilitation and logistical support which allowed legendary football coach Bobby Bowden to participate as the keynote speaker at the NC FCA fundraising banquet in 2016 and the Wilmington banquet in 2015. FLOCK has also been a longtime supporter of FCA’s camps and has provided scholarships to allow student-athletes and coaches to attend the camps. FLOCK representatives have also supported FCA by leading huddles and Bible studies at local high schools.

“FCA’s mission aligns well with what FLOCK stands for and we are proud to be able to support their work in so many different ways. We value the long-standing partnership and look forward to supporting FCA for years to come.” – Tom Teachey, House of Raeford Duplin County Community Outreach Director
