House of Raeford Donates Supplies and $25,000 to Hurricane Relief in Puerto Rico

After the devastating effects of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico last month, House of Raeford Farms has donated to the cause to rebuild the island and help people in need, as well as sent supplies for relief.

In September, House of Raeford donated $25,000 to Samaritan’s Purse for hurricane relief in Puerto Rico, Florida and Texas, expanding FLOCK’s mission from helping in communities where House of Raeford operates, to helping those who need it most, both at home and in other parts of the country.

In addition to the donation, House of Raeford employees at Filet of Chicken in Forest Park, Georgia and a local partner church in Greenville, South Carolina gathered supplies such as battery powered fans, baby wipes and formula, towels, batteries, generators, and other urgently needed items. They packed up the corporate plane and flew it full of supplies to Puerto Rico on October 4.

“Everyone at House of Raeford has stepped up to help those affected by this tragic hurricane season,” said Curtis Carr, director of community outreach for House of Raeford. “With FLOCK, our nonprofit arm, we aim to help those in need in the communities where House of Raeford operates. But the effects of this hurricane in Puerto Rico, and other areas of our country, are too severe for us to sit idly by. For that reason, we knew we needed to help.”

House of Raeford employees also helped with hurricane relief efforts in Florida and Texas earlier this month. Click here to read more about the company’s efforts to help those affected by Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Harvey.
