House of Raeford Farms Shares Christmas Gifts with Local Communities

House of Raeford Farms, Inc., with corporate offices in Rose Hill, NC, has reached out to those in need during the Christmas season and provided much needed assistance in the communities where they have operations. Every year the company provides both monetary and product donations, and this year is no exception.

Gifts from their North Carolina plants included over 250 turkeys to help the Word of Faith Church in Kenansville, NC with their food pantry Christmas package distribution and the Hampstead, NC American Legion Post 167 with their annual drive to donate food, clothing, and toys to the less fortunate in their area. The Raeford, NC plant gave over 150 turkeys as well as gift certificates to churches, non-profit organizations, and Hospice, to hopefully bring some joy to local families this holiday season.

Annually, the Lumberton, NC Police Officer’s Association hosts the “Shop with a Cop” program, taking troubled and disadvantaged children in the community Christmas shopping with a local police officer. House of Raeford’s MS Chicken Division in Maxton, NC contributed a generous monetary donation to this worthy cause. In addition, several hundred pounds of chicken were furnished by other NC plants to assist in fundraisers and other seasonal activities.

The community around the Arcadia, LA plant has been hit particularly hard economically with several industries closing their doors during the last several months. Employees of House of Raeford’s Arcadia operation, partnering with local organizations, provided 200 whole chickens for food baskets delivered to needy families in the Arcadia area just in time for Christmas dinner.

And in the Leesville, SC office, several employees “adopted” the handicapped child of a local single mother, providing toys and clothing so he could experience the excitement of Christmas. Over the years this same group has adopted other families at Christmas who were struggling because of fires, deaths, or injuries that kept them from work.

“The true meaning of Christmas is best portrayed in the love we express to others”, said Bob Johnson, CEO of House of Raeford Farms. “We are very proud of the spirit of giving that our employees show to those in their communities who need a special blessing at this time of the year, and we encourage other businesses to reach out as well.”
