House of Raeford Farms to Debut New Product at 2018 School Nutrition Show

Company to launch new nitrate-, nitrite-free mini corn dog nuggets

House of Raeford Farms is set to debut a new product during the School Nutrition Association’s 2018 Annual National Conference, kicking off July 10 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas.

This year, House of Raeford will be showcasing two featured products. A returning favorite, our Pulled Rotisserie Chicken (60% white / 40% dark meat) will be accompanied by a brand-new product, Whole Grain Chicken Mini-Corn Dog Nuggets. The new mini-corn dog nuggets are made from whole muscle breast and thigh meat with sea salt and celery juice powder, eliminating the need for added preservatives, including nitrates and nitrites.

“House of Raeford Farms’ has been committed to providing school children with quality, nutritious food since the early 1980s. We’re excited to introduce this new product at the conference as another tasty, smart option for students,” said Karen Duke, government sales manager at House of Raeford.

In addition to being a student favorite, the new mini-corn dog nuggets are compliant with the Smart Snacks in Schools’ guidelines from the Alliance for a Healthier Generation.

While the white and dark pulled rotisserie chicken isn’t new to the market, its flavor and versatility continue to make it a staple with school nutrition professionals. Its adaptable format allows for the easy creation of home-inspired entrees that kids enjoy.

“House of Raeford’s pulled rotisserie chicken not only meets rigorous menu guidelines but also maintains flavor and versatility, allowing it to be used in a variety of recipes. It’s a win-win for a healthy school lunch—all meat with no fillers, and it’s allergen-free,” said Duke.

You can find House of Raeford-created recipes showcasing our versatile Pulled Rotisserie Chicken here. Each recipe complies with dietary standards established by the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010, including reduced sodium, fat content, and transparent labeling.

At House of Raeford, we continue to work closely with our school nutrition partners to meet the health needs of their students, stay within budget and serve lunches that students enjoy. Through these relationships we’re able to gain valuable feedback in the development of new chicken products to better serve the school nutrition marketplace.

The School Nutrition Association’s 2018 Annual National Conference will be held July 10-12 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas. House of Raeford will be located at booth 1682, as shown in the map below. Stop by for a visit if you’re at the show!
