Official Update on House of Raeford Farms Wallace Plant Fire

TEACHEY, NC—February 27, 2017: During a news conference Monday afternoon, House of Raeford Farms sustainability and communications manager Dave Witter provided an official update from the Johnson and Beasley Families, owners of House of Raeford Farms, Inc., regarding the early Sunday morning fire the company’s Wallace plant:

The Johnson and Beasley Families wish to extend their deepest appreciation for the heroic effort demonstrated by more than 21 first responder teams from communities throughout Southeastern North Carolina. What these men and women do—many of whom are volunteers—is valiant and a blessing to the communities they serve. The families are eternally grateful for their incredibly fast and professional response to this incident.

The families also wish to express their thankfulness that the three first responders who received minor injuries during the fire were released from the hospital and all returned to the scene. The families are prayerful that each one of these first responders will be fully healed.

The families wish to express their deep and renewed commitment to the Wallace / Rose Hill community, and the many men and women who have worked and continue to work for House of Raeford at this facility. The family fully intends to rebuild operations in the Wallace area as soon as possible. The groundswell of support that has come from this community is amazing, heartfelt and appreciated.

Bob Johnson, CEO of House of Raeford, often says “the company and the buildings are just brick and mortar but what really makes this company are the people.” Nothing could be truer today, and we appreciate the patience of our employees as we work to provide some settlement to their unexpected situation.

House of Raeford’s human resources team and managers are in the process of calling each employee individually. Company officials are working diligently on reassignment plans, and will have updates to employees as soon as possible. In addition, the company is also posting pertinent information to the official House of Raeford Facebook page and website www.houseofraeford.com.
