Update on House of Raeford Wallace Plant Fire Investigation

TEACHEY, NC—March 1, 2017: House of Raeford Farms today received updates from the fire investigative team regarding the recent fire at the company’s Wallace Plant. The investigative team consisted of investigators from the NCSBI, ATF, Duplin County Sheriff’s Office and the Duplin County Fire Marshal’s Office.

While the official investigation is still in progress, preliminary findings indicate that the cause of the Wallace Plant fire was accidental. Fire investigators confirmed today that the fire started in a second-floor office. Investigators were able to determine that no one was in or around that area for quite some time prior to the onset of the fire. As a result, the investigators have determined that there is no evidence that the cause of the fire was intentional.

An official written report from investigators will not be available until mid-March. House of Raeford will continue sharing official updates as they are available.
